DEATH CLAIMS LYDIA ERDMAN

Mrs. Arthur P. Erdman, 72, of route 3, Geneseo died Monday afternoon, September 2, in Moline Public Hospital following a brief illness. 

Mrs. Erdman, the former Lydia K. Pobanz, was born August 7, 1891 , in Edford township, daughter of Frederick and Augusta Miller Pobanz.  She attended Edford township schools and the Geneseo Collegiate Institute and had lived in the Geneseo area all of her life.  On August 31, 1913 , she was married to Mr. Erdman in Edford Township .  She was a member of the First Presbyterian church and was formerly a deaconess of the church. 

Surviving are her husband; three sons, Arvin and Stanley both of Geneseo and Burdette of Osco; a daughter Mrs. Chancy Jones of Moline ; two brothers Julius Pobanz of Geneseo and Reuben Miller of Hammond Indiana ; a sister Miss Ella Pobanz of Geneseo and four grandchildren.  One sister and three brothers preceded her in death.  Funeral services were Thursday afternoon, September 5, in Myers Funeral home with the Rev. Frank Ebright, pastor of the First Methodist church officiating.  Mrs. Wilbur Brokaw was organist.  Pallbearers were Robert and Wesley Miller, Arley Krueger, Bernard Chamberlain, Kenneth Pobanz, and Gilbert Erdman.  Burial was in Oakwood cemetery.
