Marion Edward Ballard, 63, of Cookeville , Tenn. , formerly of East Moline , died at home Monday, Nov. 28, 2005 , in Cookeville . Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, 6601 38th Ave. , Moline . Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline .

Marion was born Feb. 5, 1942 , in New Canton, Ill., to George and Dorothy Hankins Ballard. He married Sharon Rahn in September of 1963. He later married Carolyn Cole Barnett Nov. 14, 1987 , in East Moline . Marion was a general laborer at John Deere. Marion enjoyed antiquing, hunting and woodworking. He also enjoyed being with his family.

Survivors (and spouses) include his wife, Carolyn, Cookeville; children, Brad Ballard, Davenport, Brian Ballard, East Moline, Kelly (Tom) Lange, Lebanon, Tenn., Tracy Barnett, Davenport, Donnie (Laurie) Barnett, Davenport; stepdad, Merwin Evans, East Moline; three grandchildren; sister, Judy (Jack) Sellers, East Moline; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William.
