Matilda Johnson

She born in 1842 in Sweden .  In 1846 she came with her parents to America , she was the daughter of Bishop Hill leader Eric Janson and his wife Maria Kristina. She married Andrew S. Warner on November 4, 1865 in the home of Olof Johnson, a Bishop Hill Trustee. Capt. Warner was also a native of Sweden. They were the parents of three children, two of whom lived: Charles A. and Anna Maria Christina. On the death of her husband (Dec. 5, 1875 in Douglas township, Iowa)she returned to Henry county, Illinois , but came back to Iowa in 1880 when her son Charles was old enough to farm.. Capt. Warner was born on the 13 th day of July, 1837, in Helsingland , Sweden .  His parents emigrated to this country in the year 1850. The family consisted of the parents and two sisters, besides himself. They located at Andover , Henry county, Illinois.

In 1889 Matilda married Andrew Rutherford who was from England
