Mildred M. Delphey, 94, of Geneseo, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003 , at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Wright Chapel, Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Geneseo. The Rev. David Myers will officiate. Burial will be in North Cemetery , Geneseo. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Wright Chapel. Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Home.

Mildred Swemline was born July 21, 1909 , in Phenix Township , Henry County, Ill., the daughter of William and Martha Rahn Swemline. She was raised and educated in Phenix Township . She married George Delphey Jan. 26, 1927 , in Loraine Township , Ill. He died April 5, 1994 . The couple farmed in the Geneseo area until retiring in 1958, when they moved into Geneseo. They worked as custodians at Farmers National Bank, Geneseo, from 1958 until 1992. Mildred was a member of Grace United Methodist Church , Geneseo. She loved to garden and share the results with family, friends and neighbors

. She is survived by her son, William Delphey, Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Ruth Kissell, Bradenton, Fla.; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Edward, Herbie and William; and a sister, Alma.
