Nicholas A. Hagg
Nicholas A. Hagg was born Sept. 22, 1851, in Hjelmseryd, Småland, Sweden. He came to this country in 1871 and settled in Henry co., Ill. His early training, received in the public school of his fatherland, was thorough, and hence he had a good foundation for prosperity in his adopted country. At present he successfully conducts a real estate and loan business, and is a member of the State Bank of Cambridge.
Mr. Hagg organized the first Swedish “marknad” or county fair held in Cambridge. He himself lives on a farm and owns much land to the south of Cambridge.
In politics Mr. Hagg is a Democrat and a strong believer in free trade. He belongs to many different societies.
