Owen A. Hughes whose home has been with his daughter and son in law, Mr. And Mrs. W. H. Dodge, 2416 Webster street, this city passed away at 2:45 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Santa Fe avenue M. E church, the Rev. J. E. Newson officiating, interment at Elmwood cemetery. He was born at Cardiff, Wales, November 23, 1854. He was aged 61 years 5 months and one day. When he was three years old his parents moved with their family from Wales to the United States and made their home at Van Wert Ohio, where he frew to manhood and was married to Ida E. Cox and continued to reside until 1892 when he moved to Ethel, MO., and resided for two years. He then came to Fort Madision where he has since resided. There were born to them seven children, three of whom are deceased. Those living are John, 115 Dodd Ave. Ft. Madison; Mrs. Elizabeth Dodge, 2416 Webster street; Thomas J. Harrington Kansas and Clyde, 2416 Webster Street. He leaves also his wife and four brothers; Thomas and Hugh, Vanwert Ohio; David, Iowa City Iowa; and John, Lincoln Nebraska. He had been a Christian from Childhood and had been a member of the Santa Fe M. E. Church since 1894. He was a member of the Homesteaders
