DEATH OF P.J. LINDBERG

Peter Johan Lindberg departed this life at Watertown on Tuesday morning March 5, 1907 at 8:30 o’clock being at that time 74 years old, 4 months and 18 days old.  Mr. Lindberg was born in Ljunga Sweden , Oct. 14, 1832 .  He came to America and settled at Andover Illinois in 1852.

  On May 30, 1862 he was united in marriage to Miss Emma Sophia Anderson, who now survives her husband.  Four children, three sons and one daughter, blessed this union all of whom are living; Mrs. Hannah Lindquist and C.J. Lindberg of Cambridge; Alfred Lindberg of Cameron Missouri, and Edward Lindberg of Campbell Minnesota.  Mr. Lindberg was a hard worker and managed by his hard work and good judgment to accumulate a good deal of property.  The greater part of his life in America was spent in Osco Township .  About two years ago he moved to Cambridge , where the family now resides. 

Mr. Lindberg was a member of the Swedish Lutheran church at Andover for a number of Years.  He was highly respected by all that knew him.  A large number of relatives and friends assembled at the family residence Friday March 8, 1907 at one o’clock to pay their last respects to the deceased.  Many beautiful floral tributes were on the casket.

  The service was conducted by Rev. Edgar A. Valiant, who was assisted by Pastor Martinson and C.E. Johnson.  A quartette consisting of Mr. and Mrs. C.B. Taylor, Miss Nellie Pollstrom (?) and Lester Taylor sang a number of beautiful selections.  The pallbearers were Deidrick Soderberg, J.P. Fredrickson, A.G. Anderson, John Dahlgren, C.E. Johnson and John Anderson.  Pastor Martinson conducted the service at the Cambridge Cemetery .
