RENA E. HOOVER DIES AT AGE 79
Miss Rena E. Hoover, 79, of 514 South Spring Street Geneseo died Monday, December 2, in the Hammond-Henry hospital, Geneseo, where she had been a patient six months. Services were held Wednesday afternoon, December 4, at the Myers Funeral home with Dr. Harold Sartor of the First Methodist church officiating. Mrs. Wilbur Brokaw was at the organ. Pallbearers wwere Earl Rohweder, Herbert Taube, Donald Stocks, Kenneth Firch, Lorene Yerkes and Emory Larson. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery . She was born September 13, 1878 in Garrison Iowa, daughter of John W. and Virginia Hawley Hoover. She was reared in Benton County Iowa, but had lived in Geneseo since 1896. Miss Hoover was a retired telephone operator and was a member of the GAR and the Unitarian church. Surviving are two brothers, Loren H. Hoover of Torrance California and J. Oscar Hoover of Bloomfield Connecticut and two sisters, Miss Amy Belle Hoover of Geneseo and Mrs. Kenneth Smith of East Moline .
