Ruth W. Jacobs;  Funeral  services for Ruth W. Jacobs, 69, of Alpha were held Thursday afternoon, May 17 at Peterson, Wallin, Knox funeral home in Alpha,  Mrs. Jacobs died Monday afternoon, May 14, 1990 at Illini hospital, Silvis.  The Rev. Larry Olson of Alpha officiated the service.  Burial was in Western township cemetery, Orion.  Mrs. Jacobs was born N;overmber 7, 1920 in Orion, daughter of Luther R. and Artena (Anderson) Waite.   She was a graduate of Geneseo hight school and the former St. Anthony School of Nursing, Rock Island and took obstetric courses at Lying In hopital, Chicago .  She retired in 1974 from St. Mary's hospital, Galesburg .  On February 14, 1957 she married Ervin Jacobs in Orion.  In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Margaret McClenning of Alpha and a niece, Anna Mary LeCornu of Madisonville , Kentucky .
