FUNERAL OF MRS. SABINA EVANS LARGELY ATTENDED SERVICE ON WEDNESDAY----DECEASED WAS LONG TIME RESIDENT OF GENESEO; DIED IN 75 TH YEAR

The funeral of Mrs. Sabina Evans, long a resident of Geneseo, and who died in her 75 th year at Alton, on Sunday, October 24, 1926, at the home of her son-in-law, Dr. JOHN. Ellingsworth, superintendent of the Alton State Hospital was held last Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Lola Barge, 513 North College Avenue , Geneseo.  There was a large attendance of relatives and friends, and the services were conducted by Rev. Edwin Countryman of Loraine.  Burial was in Oakwood cemetery.  Music was rendered by the Geneseo Male quartette, and the pallbearers were Percy Davies, E.E. Darlin, Willis Roberts, Charles Heeren, M.E. Fritts and Henry Diener. 

WAS BORN IN PENNSYLVANIA Sabina Spaid Evans was born August 9, 1851 , in Columbia County , Pennsylvania .  She moved to Illinois with her parents in the year 1867 and has been a resident of the community ever since, except the time spent at Alton with her daughter during her last illness.  She leaves to mourn her death two daughters, Mrs. Belle Edwards of Geneseo and Mrs. May Ellingsworth of Alton; three sisters, Mrs. Lola Barge of Geneseo, Mrs. Hilton of Medford Oregon and Mrs. Hulda Reader of Geneseo; one brother, George Spaid of Geneseo; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

  MOURNERS FROM AWAY The following from out of town attended the funeral; Rev. Peter Rolen of Galesburg, Illinois; Maurice Edwards of Rock Falls, Illinois; Dr. and Mrs. J.H. Ellingsworth, Mr. and Mrs. T. Hamilton, Leroy Mewingham and A. W. Peterson all of Alton Illinois; G.K. Barge and son Robert, of Cedar Rapids Iowa.
