Thomas Hoover, 73 Years Old Dies at Residence From Cancer. Geneseo, Ill. Dec. 15-Thomas Hoover, 73 years old, 104 North Spring Street , Geneseo, died at 10:30 last night at his home. Mr. Hoover’s death was attributed to cancer of the liver. He had been ill since Sept. 1. Mr. Hoover was born Aug. 14, 1857 , in Hillsdale , Ill. When he was 13 years old, he came with his parents From Hillsdale to a farm north of Geneseo. He was United in marriage to Kathryn Bird in Dysart , Iowa , On February 22, 1888 .
Survivors are the widow; a son, Ray; a daughter, Mrs. Viola Weber; a brother, John Hoover; a half brother, Mac Tibbs; and two half sisters, Mrs. Lane Ristau and Mrs. Frank Reighard, all of Geneseo.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 O’clock in the home and at 2:30 at Grace church , Geneseo. Rev. G.H. Wykle, pastor of the church, will officiate And interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery , Geneseo.

THOMAS HOOVER, AGED 73 PASSES AT HIS HOME ON NORTH SPRING STREET
Thomas Hoover, aged 73 years passed away Sunday night, December 14, 1930 at his home on North Spring Street after a long illness. Mr. Hoover was born on a farm near Hillsdale, August 14, 1857 , where he came with his parents to the Joseph Tibbs farm near Geneseo. Here he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Miss Katharine I. Bird at Dysart , Iowa , February 22, 1888 . Surviving are his wife; Mrs. Katharine Hoover; a daughter, Mrs. Viola Weber; a brother, John Hoover of Geneseo; a half brother, Mac Tibbs and two half sisters, Mrs. Lane Ristau and Mrs. Frank Reighard; also five grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock and at the Grace Evangelical Church at 2:30 o'clock with the Rev. G.H. Wykle in charge. The pallbearers were George Spaid, Fred Sand, Thomas Haugh, Henry Hand, Charles Wahlhelm and John Papenthien. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery . Among those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mrs. J. F. Donahue, son Darrell and daughter Elizabeth and Mrs. Fannie Hurst of Waterloo Iowa and Mrs. Ida Riley of Irvington Iowa .
