Verner Carlson

KEWANEE, Ill. -- Services for Verner M. Carlson, of Kewanee, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Cavanagh & Schueneman Funeral Home, Kewanee. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery , Kewanee . Visitation is 10:30-11 a.m. Thursday. Mr. Carlson died Monday, July 20, 1998 , at Toulon Health Care Center. He and his wife Mary operated a grocery store at 135 W. Garfield, Kewanee, from 1952 to1973. He worked 17 years at the former Kewanee Works Walworth Co. He was born Sept. 22, 1911 , in Kewanee. He married Mary Craig in 1947. She died in 1985. Survivors include a sister, Dora Palmer, Farmington .
