Mr. and Mrs. Tom Lacy attended the funeral of their uncle E. R. Lacy here Tuesday.

Frank Peterson is reported to be quite ill.

Mr. & Mrs. H. J. Charles left Monday evening for California where they will spend the winter.

F. H. Mead of Abingdon and Mrs. C. C. Dunbar of Avon were guests at the home of Rev. W. W. Vose Monday night.

Miss Francis Mosher returned to school Tuesday after an absence due to illness.

D. F. Bowers of Farmington attended the funeral services of E. R. Lacy Tuesday.

Miss Josephine McIntosh returned Monday from a brief visit with relatives and friends.

Miss Jennie McElwain of Bellville attended the funeral services of E. R. Lacy Tuesday.

The Craig School dismissed school Tuesday afternoon on account of E. R. Lacy funeral services.

Miss Mary Lacy of Hammond, Ind., attended funeral services of her uncle E. R. Lacy here Tuesday.

Mrs. Carl Wilt who recently underwent an operation is reported to be improving.

Miss Fannie Hamilton who is employed at the Parmenter restaurant has been sick for the past few days.

G. K. Sherman who was laid up for a few days last week on account of sickness is able to be out again.

Miss Cecil Myers has resumed her school work in the high school after being absent for a week on account of sickness.

Mrs. Minnie Heaton of Toulon, Ill. and Mrs. Susie Smith of Laura spent Sunday with Mrs. Chas Wilt of this city.

Everett Pickrel has been unable to resume his school room work at Gilson for the past few days on account of sickness.

William Carter of Galesburg has purchased the Harry Goff property on Galesburg Road and will assume charge in a few weeks. The deal was negotiated through Curtis Bros. Galesburg, and B. A. Ely, Knoxville.

Miss Ellen Evans and her niece, Miss Alice Howard, left Friday for Hartford, Conn., where they will visit at the home of Mrs. T. C. Temple of that city for an indefinite stay.

Mrs. B. A. Ely visited at the Geo Arnold home today.

Albert Nichols has been substituting at the H. M. Shearer grocery for the past two days while Asbury Stegall was detained from his work on account of sickness.

Superintendent of Health, Fred Rickord, removed the quarantine sign from Garland Taylor’s home and fumigated the house last week. Mr. Taylor who was quarantined with scarlet fever will resume work in school in a few days. He is being relieved by Mrs. Vern Hocksworth Keys of Galesburg.

Elmer Olsen is transacting business in Chicago this week.

Arthur Pearson of East Galesburg attended funeral services of E. R. Lacy Tuesday.

J. B. Van Cleave who has been confined to his home for the past several weeks is reported to be much improved.
