Band Concert

The newly-organized Knoxville band gave the first of a series of weekly open-air concerts in the City Park, last Thursday evening, to a large company of delighted listeners. The boys furnished splendid music. We give herewith the band roster:

Mr. W. G. Jones went to Chicago on business Monday.

Rev. L. B. Myers is away from home, on a visit to Keithsburg, Illinois.

The Misses Peacock of Chicago, are the guests of Mr. C. N. Carson.

J. A. Westfall is absent from the city on a business trip to Smithfield, Illinois.

Miss Mamie Eads left last night for an extended visit with friends at Moline.

James Dyer and family of Kansas City, Missouri, arrived here on a visit this morning.

Mr. R A. Boggess has been home from Brimfield for a few days, on a vacation.

Misses Sadie and Louie Neill of Peoria, are visiting the family of Mr. J. W. Tate.

Miss Maud Bassett of Sterling, Illinois, is the guest of her uncle, Mr. W. W. McBride.

The genial Clint Randall of Peoria, was smiling on Knoxville friends yesterday.

Miss Mary Parmenter is out of town for a short time visiting her sister at Kirkwood, Illinois.

Miss Lena McGill is spending this week in Peoria, visiting her sister, Mrs. J. D. Evans.

Mrs. C. D. Lindsey is out of town visiting friends at Oneida. She will be home next week.

Misses Lizzie Moran and Ella Turney of Bradford Illinois, are the guests of Mr. T. C. Love.

Mrs. M. E. Schuck, the wife of the cigar manufacturer, is very ill, her life been despaired of.

Mrs. C. M. Weeks is absent from the city, enjoying a short visit with relatives at Kewanee, Illinois.

Mrs. S. D. Risor, of Eureka, Illinois, arrived this morning for a short stay with Knoxville friends.

Mrs. George T. Parmenter Jr., of Oskaloosa, Iowa, came in Tuesday, to visit friends and relatives.

Hon. O. T. Johnson and family of Riverside, California, called on friends in this city, Monday evening.

Mrs. C. A. Barnhart of Rock Island arrived last week, on a visit to her father, Mr. J. W. Carns.

Mr. A. C. Arms and family of Elmwood, spent the Sabbath in the city, the guest of Capt. Stearns.

Miss Emma Robertson leaves tomorrow evening for an extended visit with friends in Decatur County, Iowa.

Miss Florence E. Gough, who has been visiting the family of R. D. McCracken, has returned to her home.

Mr. Luther Patterson left yesterday morning for Sciota, Illinois, on a two weeks' visit to his cousin, Mrs. James.

Mr. Albert Barnett, who has been visiting here, left on Wednesday night for his home at Stuart, Nebraska.

Judge J. B. Hollister and wife, of Edna, Mo., are spending a few days in the city, the guest of father Risor.

Mr. Jacob Miller of Texas, is visiting Knoxville for a few days, the guest of his brother, attorney D. C. Miller.

Miss Florence Randall of Peoria, is making a short sojourn with her Knoxville friends, the guest of Mr. R. C. Randall.

Mrs. Hippert and daughter of Chicago, are being entertained for a few days, by her sister, Mrs. Henry Barrer.

Roy E. Bertholf of Cherokee is here for a few days, on his way home from Chicago, the guest of Mr. J. W. Tate.

Mrs. O. B. Arms of Crawfordsville, Indiana, arrived in the city last week, and is the guest of her father Mr. J. C. Cover.

Rev. R. D. Russell of Maquon, will preach in the Methodist Episcopal Church next Sunday morning and evening.

Messrs. J. Z. Carns and H. J. Charles left on Monday for a week's enjoyment at Senachwine. Charles Lindsey returned last week and says the fishing is good.

Mr. J. P. Fultz of Louisville, Kentucky, came to the city last week, called here by the very serious illness of his mother, who, physician fears, cannot live long.
