Civil War Veterans
One of my goals is to find out where every Civil War veteran is buried in Knox County and take a digital picture of each tombstone. The men's tombstones that I have pictures of are listed below. Email me anytime if you would like a copy. If you would like to contribute any information regarding these veterans, please email me! I would be most grateful! Thank you for your support!
The data transcribed from their tombstones may be different from the records at the Illinois State Archives. Your detailed research will be able to distinguish which is the correct information. I only list their names, rank, and unit served in. If I find additional information, either from the tombstones or from personal research, then I will list it as well. Good luck in your research!
