Mr. Bunton was born in North Carolina in 1822, and came to Illinois in 1840, and settled in Green County. From there he removed to Bath in 1842, and in 1843, when the county seat was considered permanently located in Bath, and a court house erected, Mr. Bunton put the roof on that celebrated structure. Not only the county seat has passed away, but also the old court house, to give room for the handsome and commodious school edifice erected in its stead.

Mr. Bunton is a good citizen-a gentleman. For many years he has been in a general nursery business and the manufacture of wines.
