KILBOURNE - Effie L. Vaughn, 84, of Menard Convalescent Center in Petersburg died at 7:40 p.m. Monday, Sept. 2, 1991, at the center.

Born April 27, 1907, in Oakford to Luther and Grace Lutes Lynn, she married Julius Vaughn on Nov. 18, 1928, in Petersburg. He died April 19, 1957. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, six brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.

Surviving are three daughters, Janice Goben and Marilyn Blakeley, both of Kilbourne, and Joyce Atterberry of Petersburg; two sons, Roger of Petersburg and Jack of Oakford; one sister, Eleanor Justice of Oakford; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was a clerk for the Secretary of State's office. She was a member of Oakford Methodist Church.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Hurley Funeral Home, Havana. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Kilbourne Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
