Uncle Sammy Lounsberry Page 42 Above scene taken in 1916, shows Uncle Sammy Lounsberry, Oakford's oldest resident weighing a load of grain on the scales of the McFadden elevator. At this time John Armstrong was operating the elevator, as well as selling implements and hardware. Uncle Sammy's folks settled in the Oakford area in the early 1830s.
