Clyde S. Cantrall
Clyde S. Cantrall, 79 years old, died at his residence in Cantrall on
Tuesday, May 12, at 7:10 p.m. He was formerly a resident of Petersburg and Athens.
Mr. Cantrall was born April 24, 1902 in Menard County, the son of Thomas A. and Sylvia G. Potter Cantrall.
He had been a farmer in the Menard County for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy May, on November 27, 1980.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Esther Woodson of Springfield; one son,
Harold Cantrall Sr. of Cantrall; two sisters, Mrs. Lula Lott of Athens and Mrs. Mildred Lee of Petersburg; thirteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Remains were taken to the Mott and Henning Funeral Home in Athens. Funeral services were held there at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16, with Rev. Odell Bell and Rev. Gary Davenport officiating. Burial was in West Cemetery, Athens.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Petersburg.
