Kenneth "Coke" Cantrall of Athens died Wednesday, July 1 at 8:00 a.m. at his residence. He was 68 years of age.
He was born January 23, 1924 in Athens, the son of Allen and Elsie Cline
Cantrall. He was preceded in death by one son, Donald Cantrall, in 1985.
Mr. Cantrall owned and operated a grocery business in Athens from 1948 until his retirement in 1984. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and was a member of the Athens VFW Post #5302 and the James C. Wade Post #129, American Legion in Athens. He was also a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Athens.
Surviving are his wife, Margie; one son, Mike Cantrall of Athens; one
daughter, Mrs. Myra Schneider of Hoffman Estates; mother, Mrs. Elsie Rodell of Petersburg; and two grandsons.
Graveside services were held at 9:00 a.m. Friday, July 3 at Hall Cemetery in Athens with Rev. Richard A. Becker officiating. Mott and Henning Funeral Home of Athens was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Memorial Medical Center Foundation or to the
Athens Basic Life Support Team.
