Hazel Estill of Springfield died Wednesday, April 24, at 2:40 a.m. at
Memorial Medical Center at the age of 74 years.
She was born May 3, 1916, near Athens, the daughter of Samuel D. and Florence Grant Cantrall. She married Merle L. Estill on October 5, 1935 in Springfield. She was preceded in death by one brother, Henry Cantrall.
Mrs. Estill was owner and operator of Kiddie Kampus Day Care Center in Jerome for many years. She was a member of the West Side Christian Church in Springfield and of the U & I Bible School Class of the church. She was also a charter member of the ChatSew Club.
Surviving are her husband, Merle; three daughters, Donna Rutledge of Forest Park, Janet Weiss of Mattoon, and Mary Lou Klein of Springfield; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister, Mrs. Lois Reinders of Springfield; and several nieces and nephew.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27 at Mott and Henning
Funeral Home in Athens with Rev. Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial was in Indian Point Cemetery near Athens.
Memorials may be made to the New Building Fund at West Side Christian Church in Springfield.
