VERNON C. GRANT, 84, DIES, LONGTIME RESIDENT; RETIRED FROM FARMING
Vernon C. Grant, 84, a longtime resident of this area and a retired farmer, having farmed in the Sweetwater community for many years, died at Memorial Hospital at 10:20 p.m. Friday, March 17.
For the past year and a half, he had lived in Springfield, residing at 3033 East Carpenter. He was born in Cantrall, a son of Robert and Mary Canterbury Grant.
Surviving are one son, Robert, of Watseka; two daughters, Mrs. Ellamarie Fitch of Springfield and Mrs. Reeda Charis of Mason City; and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00 p.m. from the Sweetwater Church of Christ. The Rev. James Haening and Rev. Richard Robinson conducted the services.
Burial was made in Indian Point Cemetery.
