ARTHUR JENSEN, 85, DIES; RESIDENT HERE MANY YEARS, ILL LONG TIME; BURIAL SUNDAY
Arthur Jensen, 85, a longtime resident of Athens, in ill and failing health for several years, died Friday, February 3.
He was a son of Chris and Hettie Ann England Jensen, and was born at
Cornland, Iowa, coming to Athens with them when very young.
He followed the trade of painter and decorator in his working years.
Surviving are the widow, Esther E.; and two daughters, Mrs. Elaine Jensen and Lorraine Jensen, all of Athens. Three grandchildren and a great
granddaughter also survive with a brother, Harry, of Springfield, and a sister, Mrs. Daisy Short, of Orange City, Fla.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the Mott and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Prosper Tournear of Athens Methodist Church, of which Mr. Jensen was a member, in charge.
Burial was made in Hall cemetery.
