Audrey T. Ames 66, of Springfield died at 9:51 a.m. Sunday at St. John's Hospital.

Mrs. Ames was born in Luther the daughter of Wilson and Mary Jane Garner Thompson. Before her retirement in 1980, she was employed by Horace Mann Insurance Co. for many years. Preceding her in death were a son, Warren Lee Gaddie; one daughter, Joan Ames; three sisters and one brother.

Mrs. Ames was a member of the South Side Christian Church, King's Daughters and the Mason City Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are her husband, Herbert; one daughter, Mrs. William (Carolyn) Rodgers of Springfield; two brothers, William Thompson of Springfield and Blane Thompson of Mason City; two sisters, Cardenas Hagney of Springfield and Wynona Wise of Daytona Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at South Side Christian Church, with the Rev. Robert Green officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at Greenview.

Bisch Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
