Monday evening, August 6th at 7:15 occurred the death of Mrs. Mary E. Brown at the residence of James E. Dalby, 1157 North third Street, Springfield. She was the wife of Alexander Brown, formerly a resident of Sangamon County. The deceased was aged___ years, 2 months and 15 days. She was a daughter of William D. Power, at one time County judge of Sangamon County, and was born near Cantrall, Illinois, where she resided the greater portion of her life. In 1881 she was united to Alexander Brown of near Cantrall.
For the past six years Mr. and Mrs. Brown have resided in Chicago, where Mr. Brown is engaged in the live stock and commission business. Besides her husband she is survived by one son, Luther A., who also resides in Chicago, and one brother, W.E. Power of Cantrall.
Funeral services were held form the home of Mr. Dalby Thursday morning at 10:30. Interment at oak Ridge cemetery.
