DEATH OF W. G. CARTER
W. G. Carter died at his home in Tallula, Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock,
aged 71 years, 4 months and 15 days. Funeral at the house at 2 o’clock p.m.
Tuesday, Rev. Mr. Hover of the Baptist church officiating. Interment in the
Union cemetery. "Oaf," as he was usually called, was an old soldier of the
civil war, and for several years has been so badly crippled up with
rheumatism that he could not walk, and had to be wheeled around on a chair.
He leaves a devoted wife and eight children, four boys and four girls. Mrs.
George Helm, his daughter, attended the funeral from Chicago.
