William Hedrick died at his home in Springfield, Sunday morning, May 15, 1927, at 11 o'clock, aged 82 years, 6 months and 6 days.
Deceased was born in this city and resided here until about fifteen years ago when he moved his family to Springfield.
He was a veteran of the Civil war and served in Company K 106th Illinois Infantry.
He is survived by his wife, Emma; four daughters, Mrs. Fay Turnbull, Mrs. Hilda Mahien, Mrs. Gladys McMurray, all of Springfield; and Mrs. Vivian Rowley, Auburn; three sons, Thomas Roland and Smith, all of Springfield, and one brother, T. H. Hedrick of Peoria.
Funeral services were held at the Third Presbyterian church, Springfield, Tuesday afternoon, May 17, at 2 o'clock. Rev. H. M. Hildebrand officiating. The services were under the auspices of Stephenson Post No. 39, G.A.R. of which Mr. Hedrick was a member.
Interment was made in the Athens West cemetery.
