DEATH COMES TO MISS MAE D. HELLSTERN
Retired Nurse Is Suddenly Stricken; Rites Will Be
Held At Rock Creek
Miss Mae D. Hellstern, a retired
practical nurse, died at 12:40 p.m. yesterday at
the residence, 432 1/2 South Fifth street. Death
followed a brief illness. Apparently in good
health, Miss Hellstern was stricken suddenly
yesterday morning and died about two hours later.
Miss Hellstern had been a resident of
Springfield since 1917. Because of ill health
she retired from active nursing about ten years
She was born four miles south of
Petersburg, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George
Hellstern. For nine years she resided in
Petersburg, coming from there to Springfield in
Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Kate
Williams, Aurora; Mrs. A. C. Lynn, Checotah,
Okla.; Mrs. E. P. Hornbeck, Greenville, and Miss
Ruth Hellstern, city.
Remains were removed to the Bisch
Memorial home where brief services will be held
at 9:45 a.m. tomorrow, followed by rites at the
Rock Creek Presbyterian church, four miles east
of Tallula, of which she was a member. Rev. G.
A. Wilson will officiate and interment will be in
Rock Creek cemetery.
