Cal C. Jensen died at his residence at 6 a. m. January 16, following an illness of about two weeks. He was 86 years, 9 months and 4 days of age.

He was born in Norway on April 12, 1850, the youngest of thirteen children, only one brother, Onen, nearly four years older survives him.

Also surviving him are one daughter Mrs. Daisy Short of DeLand, Florida and three sons, Arthur and Emery of Athens and Harry of Whiting, Indiana, six grand children and three great grandchildren.

When thirteen years of age he came to the United States with his parents and settled near Athens. This voyage was made in a sailing vessel; they were ten weeks in crossing the ocean.

Most of Mr. Jensen's life was spent in Central Illinois.

On December 24, 1880, he was united in marriage to Hettie Ann England, who preceded him in death, November 25, 1932.

Funeral was held at the home of Emery Jensen on Sunday, January 17th at 2 p.m. Burial in Hall cemetery.
