HENRY W. MILLER

Henry W. Miller was born February 4, 1873 at Oldenstadt, Germany, the son of Mr. And Mrs. Henry W. Miller. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith at the place of his birth. Coming to the country with his parents, he was confirmed in the Lutheran church at Reedburg, Wis. On November 22, 1894, he was united in marriage with Miss Amelia Witte. This union was blessed with four children, one son, Walter preceding his father in death on March 4, 1932.
For many years Mr. Miller was section-foreman on the North Western Railroad at Barr Station. Due to ill health he resigned his position and moved to Cantrall a little over 2 years ago. He departed this life quite unexpectedly at 1 A.M. Saturday, January 7, 1933, the immediate cause of his death being diagnosed as myocarditis. The days of his earthly pilgrimage were 59 yrs, 11 mos, and 3 days.
Since his coming to this vicinity he was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, where funeral services were conducted for him Monday, January 9. Rev. E. C. Pautsch officiating. Appropriate hymn selections were rendered by Irene Dirks, Helena Engel, Henry Forden and Verne Maxwell. Interment was made in Hall cemetery.
He leaves to mourn his departure his bereaved wife, one son, Otto, section-foreman at Barr Station, two daughters, Mrs. Andrew Schnack of Quincy, Ill., and Ruth at home, one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Trenchard, besides a number of other relatives and many friends.
