Dead at Sixty-Two
Oscar K. Powell, 62, a farmer residing five miles northeast of Petersburg, died at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30 at his home following a long illness.

Mr. Powell was born Aug. 26, 1894 in Wayne County, KY., the son of James and Laura Powell. In August, 1916 he married Tennie Brammer.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, James, Petersburg; Stanley, Racine, Wis.; Leland, Springfield; and Franklin Eugene, with the U. S. Army in Germany; five daughters, Mrs. Hollis Sinclair, Mrs. Marilyn Hillyer, Mrs. Ada Stockton and Mrs. Delores Snyder, all of Petersburg; and Mrs. Albert Dowworth, of Springfield; a brother, Elmer, Ashland; five sisters Mrs. Fouie Gunnell, McCamey, Tex.; Mrs. Charles Dearing, Kilbourne; Mrs. Lillian Barnett, Monticello, Ky.; Mrs. Roy Barnett, Ashland, and Mrs. Melvin Denney of Indianapolis, Ind.

The body was taken to Thomas -Harms & Hurley funeral home and last rites are to be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. E.R. Wall. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery.
