John B. Rainey, Petersburg, Dies Suddenly
John B. Rainey, 55, died suddenly at his residence in Petersburg at 7 o'clock Wednesday morning, April 20, 1938, following a heart attack. Mr. Rainey had been down town to make some purchases and just arrived home when he was stricken. A physician was called but Mr. Rainey passed away before his arrival.
Doctor Moulton held an inquest and a verdict rendered that death resulted from a heart attack.
The decedent is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Barbee and Mrs. Mary Fry, Petersburg; three grandsons; one sister, Mrs. Scott Hinman, Springfield and two brothers, Frank Rainey, Petersburg and Paul, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at the residence at 2 p.m. and at 2:30 at the St. Paul's Evangelical Church, Rev. Roland Mernitz officiating.
Mr. Rainey was a brother-in-law of Mrs. Julius Hackman of Athens.
