Mrs. Schonewise dead following long illness
Mrs. Lucille M. Schonewise, wife of Horace Schonewise of Sandridge community,
died at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8 at Memorial Hospital, a the age of 43.
Death followed an illness of some two years.
Mrs. Schonewise was born January 8, 1921 in Springfield, a daughter of
Herbert and pearl VanAtten Ames, now of Greenview. She was married on Dec. 29, 1940
at Palmyra, Mo., to Horace Schonewise and for the past 23 years they have
lived on a farm north of Petersburg. She was a member of the Methodist church in
Surviving are her husband, Horace; two daughters, Mrs. James Eddings of
Petersburg and Mrs. Robert Wehrheim of Mason City; her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Herbert Ames; one brother, Herbert Ames Jr. of Springfield; one sister Mrs. Bernice
Baumgardner of Mason City; one grandchild; two nieces and one nephew.
The body is at the Hurley Funeral Home, and services will be held at 2 p.m.
Thursday at the Methodist Church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Robert Pitsch,
with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
