Guy L Swiney Passes On
Former Resident and Retired Farmer of This Community Passes Away Following Long Illness.

Guy L Swiney, 66, Rochester, a retired farmer and former employee of the state department of agriculture, died at 2:30 am Sunday Oct 27, 1946, at St Johns hospital where he has been a patient since Sept 1945.

He was born on a farm south of Greenview and spent most of his life there. About 10 years ago he moved with his family to Springfield. After the death of his wife he moved to Rochester to reside with a daughter, Mrs John Churchill, and family.

He was a member of Greenview No 653 A.F. & A. M., the commondery in Petersburg, and the Springfield Consistory and shrine.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs John Churchill and Miss Mabel Swiney of Springfield, two grandchildren and a sister, Mrs Mabel Rose, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The funeral services were held at the Bush funeral home in Springfield Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock conducted by Rev W H Day.

the pallbearers were Otto Deverman, Ernest Tripp, Evert Tice, Todd Kincaid, Carl Miller and Cleo Denton.

Internment was made at "Indian Point Cemetery" and the Greenview Masonic Lodge took part in the services. Those taking part were Eddinton Welch, Springfield, Cleo Denton, chaplain, William Schoeneweiss, secretary and Elmer Montgomery, Marshall.
