Death of Levi Vaughn
Levi Vaughn died at his home in Endicott, Nov. 6, 1926 at the age of 79 years. Mr. Vaughn had lived in that community for 26 years. A few years ago he left the farm and has since lived in Endicott.
He was born in Green County, Kentucky, Oct. 8, 1847. On Jan. 13, 1876 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Ann Price. To them were born six children, all surviving, Mrs. Vaughn Woodbury, Pomona, Cal.; Wm. E. Vaughn, Sterling, Colo; Mrs. Flora B. Davis, Denver, Colo; Charles C. Vaughn, Ewing, Nebr.; Harry Lee Vaughn, Ontario, Cal; Clay Price Vaughn, Endicott. Besides the children, he is survived by his widow, two brothers, James of Bartlett, Kans., and Phillip of Oakford, Ill., two sisters, Mrs. Mary Woldridge of Fay, Okla., and Mrs. Eliza Woldridge of Kirksville, Mo., and ten grandchildren.
The funeral was held Monday, in the Endicott church with the services conducted by Rev. L.U. Blough formerly of Endicott but now of Wilber. Burial was in the Fairbury cemetery.
Note: Levi Vaughn moved to Menard County with his parents about 1858 and lived there until the early 1880's.
