Philip Vaughn Who Died Friday Left Many Descendents
Philip Vaughn, aged 84 years, a retired farmer who has been a resident of Pekin for the past two years, died at the home of his son, Francis Vaughn, 1417 Henrietta Street at 2 Friday afternoon. He was born in Kentucky, January 1, 1842 and his marriage was to Mary Jane Bond. His wife died several years ago.
He is survived by the following children: Thomas Vaughn, Pekin; Mrs. Alice Bell, Petersburg; Francis Vaughn, Pekin; John and Arthur Vaughn, Atterberry; Mrs. Julia Voth, Oakford; Mrs. Anna Ogden, Chandlerville. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Mary Woldridge of Oklahoma and Mrs. Lizzie Woldridge of Keokuk, Ia. 25 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the Noel funeral home and Monday morning will be taken to Oakford, where funeral services will be held at the Mt. Olive church at 11 o'clock. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, in Sangamon county.
