Lucille A. Weaver, 79, of Petersburg died Wednesday, May 7 at Menard Convalescent Center in Petersburg.

She was born January 10, 1918 in Pleasant Plains, the daughter of Marvin and Elizabeth Mattingly Pollard. She was preceded in death by two sons, Henry Lee Skaggs and Thomas Dale Skaggs.

Mrs. Weaver was a member of the Petersburg United Methodist Church. Surviving are five daughters, Mildred L. Hinds of Petersburg,, Ruth A. Duncheon, Norma L. Justice and Sandra J. Johnson, all of Oakford, and Judith K. Thomas of Mason City; three sons, Willard E. Skaggs and John R. Weaver, both of Petersburg, and William Dean Skaggs of Lincoln; 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; one sister, June Jenkins of Alton; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Friday, May 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg with Rev. Daryl Fansler officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Petersburg.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
