JOHN J. WILKEN, 39, DIES OF HEART ATTACK
John J. Wilken, 39, prominent farmer of northeast Menard county, died suddenly Monday, May 18, at his home, five miles northeast of Greenview. Dr. Irving Newcomer, Menard county coroner, conducted an inquest and gave the cause of death as a heart attack.
Mr. Wilken was born May 24, 1902 near Greenview, and on December 31, 1929, married Miss Marie Amerkamp.
Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Betty Joan and Dolores; his mother, Mrs. Altman Wilken, Greenview; and two sisters, Mrs. Rudolph Grimm, Gardner, Mont., and Mrs. Marie Bancroft, Springfield.
Remains were removed to the Satorius Funeral Home and later removed to the residence where services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 at St. John's Lutheran church, Rev. C.J. Beehler, officiating. Burial was at the Elmwood cemetery, Greenview.
