Mathew S. Campbell

Matthew S., son of John and Mary Campbell, was bom in Huntingdon county, Pennsylvania, December 27, 1848. The family are of Scotch-Irish decent, the early ancestors having fled to Ireland during the covenanters rebellion. In 1863 Mr. Campbell came to Illinois, and located in Warren county, near the Mercer and Warren county line.
A few years after he removed to Suez township and located on section 26. He was married in 1866 to Miss Annie Watt, a native of Mifflin county, Pennsylvania. The names of their children are as follows : Willie R. (deceased), Clyde R., and Clarence W.
