Mrs. Betsy Barnes Gotobed, who had been spending about a year in the homes of her sons,Samuel and William Gotobed near Pleasant Lawn, died at the home of the former Saturday night, November 5, 1910. Death was from cancer and followed illness of several months.
Her five children, Samuel and William Gotobed of this county, George Gotobed of Howard, Kansas, Joseph Gotobed of Turlock, California and Mrs. Edith Dixon of Milan, Illinois, were all with her during her last illness. Aside from the children, Mrs. Gotobed is survived by a brother Samuel Barnes of Wayne, Nebraska and by 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren
Funeral services were held in Pleasant Lawn United Presbyterian Church at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, Nov. , by Rev. W.Murchie, they have been preceded by a short prayer service at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Gotobed. There was singing by friends and from the Presbyterian and M.E. church choirs. the pallbearers were Samuel, William and Joseph Gotobed, Samuel Altaffer, W. Ogden and Jas. Baird. The remains, accompanied by the Messrs. Gotobed, were taken to Mrs. Gotobed's home in Rock Island County, Illinois.for burial services being held there on Tuesday.
