Carl V. 'Cully' Johnson
ROCK ISLAND -- Services for Carl V. "Cully" Johnson, of Rock Island , will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island . Burial will be in National Cemetery , Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Cully died Friday, July 3, 1998 , at his home. He retired in 1974 as a foreman after working for 41 years at the former Farmall Works, IHC, Rock Island . Mr. Johnson was born Dec. 11, 1912 , to Charles and Anna (Erickson) Johnson in Rock Island . He married Sylvia Diehn on Aug. 27, 1937 , in Moline . She preceded him in death. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church , Moline . He also was a 40-year member of the Moline Eagles Club. He was an avid golfer. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the SIDS Foundation

. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Debbie Johnson, Milan , Ill. ; granddaughters, Heather Litscher, Moline , and Kristy Mulvania, Chicago; and a special friend, Deloris Krup, Rock Island . He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a sister, Myrtle, on June 30, 1998 , and a great-grandson, 1995.
