CLARENCE C. SISCO

Clarence C. "Howie" Sisco, 47, 1304 Second street , Rock Island , well-known city bowler, died at 3:15 o'clock yesterday afternoon in St. Anthony's hospital. Mr. Sisco had been ill a week with pneumonia. He was admitted to the hospital Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon in the Knox chapel. The Rev. Fred J. Rolf of the Church of Peace will officiate. Burial will be in Chippiannock cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home.

During the 1938-39 bowling season, Mr. Sisco was selected as one of the five best bowlers in Rock Island in a contest staged by WHBF. He was one of a group of eight bowlers who formed the Rock Island Bowing association in 1930. This past season Mr. Sisco was a member of the bowling teams sponsored by the Shamrock Tavern, Tom Ackles Used Cars and the Moline Glass company. He was born in Eliza , Ill. , Sept. 3, 1901 . At age 7 he came to Rock Island with his parents, Calvin and Hester Sisco

. Mr. Sisco attended Rock Island schools and resided here the rest of his life. He had been employed 31 years in the freight office of the Milwaukee railroad. He married Edna Mable Turner of Lancaster , Mo. , Sept. 3, 1938 , in Maquoketa , Iowa . Mr. Sisco was a member of Camp 26, Modern Woodmen of America and Rock Island lodge, No. 190, Moose.

Surviving are the widow; two brothers, Ralph and Clifford, both of Rock Island ; a sister, Mrs. William Parr of Rock Island ; a half brother, Everett Shotwell of Tipton, Iowa , and four half-sisters, Mesdames Florence Johnson, George Nelson, John Baughman, all of Rock Island , and Evie McDevitt of Denver , Colo.
