The Colonel Davenport Home, located on the north shore of Arsenal Island, is the oldest home in the Quad Cities. The federal-style home was built in 1833 and was home to the Colonel’s family until 1863. The Colonel was murdered in the home on July 4, 1845. The structure was restored in 1907 and again in 1988 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today the home is filled with artifacts from the mid nineteenth century.
