Moline Dispatch

April 29,1904

George W. Ranbarger died Thursday April 28. He had been a resident of Rock Island County for 45 years and of Stewartville( Moline) for a score of years and he had won for himself friends without number with his gential nature.

He was born 19 November 1832 in Russellville, IL. There he married Sarah Ann Bishop March 6, 1853. And they enjoyed a campionship of fifty-one years standing before this separation by his death. She survives.They had nine children. The surviving children are: John M. Ranbarger of Milan, Mrs. M. Johnson and Mrs. Amanda Bledsoe of Moline. Mrs. John Swanson, New Orleans. There are 25 grand children and 4 great grandchildren.

George was a Later Day Saint. The funeral was at the Second Methodist Church of Stewartville. Burail was in the Hartzell Cemeteryin South Moline.

George Ranbarger was a kindly old gentlemen known to many friends in Stewartville and throughout the city as "Grandpa". He had been an invalid fo several years and his last attack extended over a period of four weeks.
