HERMAN J. LUDWIG

Funeral services for Herman J. Ludwig, 76, of 1114 Forty-first avenue, Rock Island , who died Sunday night in St. Anthony's hospital, will be held Wednesday, at 1 p.m. in the Hodgson funeral home. The Rev. M. D. Cuttie of Gloria Dei United Presbyterian church will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

A retired carpenter, Mr. Ludwig was born Aug. 22, 1875 , in Charles City, Ia. He moved to Rock Island as a child and attended school there. He married Minnie Meese Nov. 20, 1901 , in Davenport . She preceded him in death, March, 1950. Mr. Ludwig was a member of Rock Island aerie, No. 956, Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was of Lutheran faith.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Arthur Shultz and Mrs. Richard Malone, both of Rock Island , and Mrs. Lillian McRae, Chicago ; four sons, Edward and Carl, Rock Island , Raymond, Herron , Ill. , and Leroy , U.S. Navy, Philadelphia ; two brothers, Rudolph, Chippewa, Ia. , and William, Ottumwa , Ia. , and three sisters. In addition to his wife, a daughter, a brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
