Jackson C. Bisant, brother of the late Oscar M. Bisant, formerly chief of police of Moline, died at his home in Carbon Cliff yesterday. He had been a life-long resident there, and was well and favorably known. He suffered a paralytic stroke on Dec. 1, and has since been failing. He was born Sept. 21, 1846, at the place of his death, a farm at Carbon Cliff. Active farming work was engaged in by Mr. Bisant until 10 years ago, when he retired. He served for three years as corporal in the Civil war with Company L, Seventeenth regiment, Illinois cavalry. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Colona. His wife preceded him in death on Feb. 22, 1908. He is survived by a daughter, Miss Alice Elizabeth Bisant, at home, and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Minerva Barton, who celebrated her 84th birthday yesterday, and who has made her home with the deceased for a number of years. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home and at 2:30 at the Bowlesburg chapel. Interment will be in the Bowlesburg cemetery, and will be conducted by Rev. J. M. Osborne of the East Moline Babtist church. Clement lodge of Masons of Colona will also assist in the services at the grave.
