JOHN BUFFUM

Farmer; Sec. 26; P. 0. Andalusia; was born in Ashtabula Co., Ohio, on Feb. 5,1825; owns 320 acres of land, valued at $14,000; in 1826, he moved with his parents to Fulton Co., Ill., and to this Co. in 1836; since 1850, he has been engaged in farming, dealing in stock, and farm produce; he is one of the early settlers in this Township; on Dec. 12, 1850, he married Miss Sarah Raymer, of Edgington, formerly from New York, her native State ; he has six sons, Rinnah W., John M., Ira H., Sampson H., Frank, and Grant; Rep; has held the office of Supervisor of his town eight terms ; has been School Treasurer nineteen years, and has been three times elected Chairman of the County Board of Supervisors; he is Trustee for the Methodist and Baptist churches.
