. Milan General Hospital was formally dedicated April 13, 1947 . At the time it had a capacity of 30 beds. The building was only 8,000 square feet. The hospital was never widely accepted. It struggled for more than 3 years financially and resorted to public donations to meet operating expenses. In the early 1950s the hospital liquadated its assets, paid off stockholders with a Dr. Condon maintaining ownership of the building and equipment. It was later renamed Comfort Harbor and is a convalescent-nursing home. .
