CITY GOVERNMENT

On January 30, 1911, Moline voted on the question of adopting the commisison form of city government. The question was decided in tne affirmative. On February 28. a primary election was held at which primaries.

Andrew Olson and Martin Carlson were nominated for mayor, and Clark G. Anderson. Oscar M. Bisant, William A. MacBeth, Ezra L. Eastman. Frank Gustafson, C. V. Johnson and Louis O. Jaime, candidates for commissioners.

On April 4, an election took place, and Martin Carlson was elected mayor, and Clark G. Anderson. Charles V. Johnson, Louis O. Jalms and Ezra L. Eastman, commissioners.

Previous to the time of this election the city council consisted of

Andrew Olson, mayor

H. M. Oldefest city clerk

Axel H. Kohler, city attorney; aldermen: first ward

John Day and Carl Berglund; second ward

C. V. Johnson and Frank W. Anderson; third ward

Henry C. First and James H. McBride; fourth ward

Thomas A. Burtchaell and V. Edward Brown; fifth ward

Ernest Carlmark and Theodore Wiegand: sixth ward

A. C. Stouffer and W. H. Christison; seventh ward

R. A. Douglas and James H. McElhatton; with Clark G. Anderson as city engineer

Oscar M. Bisant. chief of police, and

Frank Gustafson, police magistrate
