MOLINE SCALE COMPANY
The original owners of the Moline Scale Company organized in Dixon, III., in 1869, and, realizing the valuable resources of the Plow City, moved to Moline in 1871, occupying a part of the site now used by the Moline Plow Company. In 1877 the Moline Plow Company people purchased the concern and operated it until it was bought by E. & T. Fairbanks and Company.
In 1904 ten acres of land was purchased in East Moline and the factory now occupies quarters on Eleventh street and Factory avenue in that progressive little city. F. H. Brooks is at the head of the corporation of which the Moline branch is an integral part. C. H. Vincent is the resident manager. The corps of men now employed is 125.
The output of the factory consists of scales and scales and scales, though the company does some jobbing foundry work for outside firms. A new addition to the plant, 70x108 feet, and two stories high, was completed early this year (1913).
